but you are so right the sweet were a great band...Queen totally ripped them back then,
and Micky used to tell me about them,as they played All SWEET stuff.
they were called SMILE back then,
RIP MICKY, another Great drummer Gone! ouch!!!
<font size="2" face="Arial,Helvetica">pkhone, one of the most underrated bands due to tracks like 'Little Willy' and 'Wig Wam Bam', but once they broke their Chinn/Chapman shackles, and wrote their own material they really ROCKED.

**** Tucker was such a great drummer and was very sad to hear of his passing.
You are so lucky to have known him, he always came across as a nice guy.

The reason we watched TOTP on a Thursady evening was to see The Sweet, Slade and T-Rex glamming it up.

Not a lot of people know that Queen plagiarized the Sweet to the hilt. Just listen to the harmonies and guitar sound of Queen.

Nice to know another Sweet fan is still out there.

Cheers pkhone.

Thanks Buddy, yeah it is really nice to know another great sweet fan and also a great rock and roll historian like yourself, The Guy that lived next us in london was a guy called les Runham, he was a guy that helped run Top Of The Pops, so he would bring me tickets every week,so I would go home from work, get Changed into some Glam clothes and get my friends an head to White City,we were always given the treatment at the "BEEB" man it was awesome, got friendly with mark Bolan, Rod and the faces, Slade,Elton...and My old Buddies the Sweet, I will always miss those days, and Miss Micky Tucker, he did suffer when his wife died that really changed him,
anyway, I must finish these videos for SANDY WEST she is such a good friend and I really feel for her!!! she is such an incredible person to be with, so I hope She gets well, as I would love to get some new stuff together with her,
thanks again.

pkhone, the Glam era was such a great time and nice to hear you were part of it too.
Never got along to TOTP dispite my father being able to get me free tickets. He used to work for BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service).
I would have liked to have meet Mickey as he came across as a real great guy. Mind you most of the Glam guys cames across as nice guys.
The world is a poorer place without Mickey now.
Such a shame when the good die so young.
Makes you root even more for Sandy.
Hope we can meet up sometime in the future ????

Take care my friend.

indianapolis ,indiana usa .wow i cant believe the famous people i've talked to online since coming to the runaways site. i first heard of the runaways in crawdaddy magazine. back at my 'awkward' age . waiting for the night was my first 'rock and roll album!=) i had always listened to country music up and still do but for rock and roll nothing ever replaced the runaways .i just realized the other day who the mara fox was i had been talking to online was. kind of strange really. we who chat on saturday nights on cherie currys chat room have been rooting for sandy too! at least our donations have helped sandy have more of her medicine she needs. watching ******** on showw showtime. rock on guys. oh and my new brotherinlaw just came over from england too! small world sometimes.
